ስለ እኛ · About us

A small agency that answers the phone.

Selara Foreign Employment Agent PLC is a licensed private limited company based in Bole Sub-City, Addis Ababa. We connect Ethiopian job seekers with vetted employers overseas and handle everything in between — the paperwork, the medical and skills clearances, the visa, the training, the flight.

Leaving home for work is one of the biggest decisions a family makes. We think it deserves more than a signature and a departure date. Every applicant sits down with a case officer who explains the job, the salary, the working hours and the contract in a language they read comfortably — before anything is signed.

We work in Amharic and English, deal with employers in Arabic, and keep the same phone number open after you arrive.

Common questions

Before you get in touch.

What documents do I need to get started?

To open a file you'll need a valid passport (or proof that one is being processed) and a kebele or national ID. As the process moves forward you'll also need a medical examination, a certificate of competence for your occupation, police clearance and insurance. We tell you which of these you already have covered and which are still outstanding at your first appointment.

How long does the whole process take?

It depends on the destination country, the employer and how quickly clearances come through — it is not the same for everyone. What we commit to is giving you a written estimate at the start and telling you when it changes, rather than leaving you to wonder.

Will I know my employer and my contract before I travel?

Yes. You see the employer, the job description, the salary, the working hours, the rest days and the contract duration before you accept, and we go through the contract with you. If you don't want the offer, you don't take it, and your file stays open for the next one.

What happens if there's a problem after I arrive?

Call us. Our file stays open for the length of your contract, and we take issues up directly with the employer. Where a matter needs official intervention, we help you reach the Ethiopian embassy or labour attaché in your destination country and keep your family in Ethiopia informed.

What languages do you work in?

Amharic and English with workers, and Arabic with employers and partners in the Gulf and Jordan.
